The “Learning about Guizhou” Summer Program for ASEAN Medical Students is held successfully by Zunyi Medical University from 3 July to 9 July, 2023, with 17 participants from Universiti Malaya, Mahidol University, Perm State Medical University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Tung Wah College.

Under the scheme of the “ZHI & XING” Guizhou Silk Road Youth Exchange Program, it features an important part of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week and aims to provide a unique opportunity for overseas medical students to get insight into local culture of Guizhou and exchange ideas with peers from other countries or regions. The program covers a range of courses that introduce basic information, herbs, latest medical development of Guizhou and activities that unveil the natural scenery and cultural heritage of China such as paper cutting, lantern making and batik dyeing.

The program receives positive feedback from the participants. “I have broadened my horizon, learnt about Guizhou herbs and medicine and also made new friends here. I am deeply impressed by the hospitality of Zunyi Medical University and their considerate arrangements during the program”, Tittaya, one of the participants said. It is expected to boost exchange and cooperation between Zunyi Medical University and the above-mentioned universities.
