From August 28th to September 3rd, “Zhixing Guizhou” youth exchangeprogram "Encountering Qianbei Culture, Bonding ZMU”studytourwas successfullyheld by Zunyi Medical University.
The activity is an extensionprogramof the “HRH Princess Sirindhorn Cup” for ASEAN Students Studying in Chinacombing cultural lectures withcultural fieldvisits, such asexperiencing the magic of Chinese medicine andthe richness and colorfulness of Guizhou's ethnic culture. The cultural fieldvisits took place inthe Zunyi Conference Site, the Shuanghe Underground Cave, the Gongguan Bridge of Suiyang Hot Springs, the Xiangjiang Bridge of Zunyu Expressway, and the Flying Dragon Lake of Yuqing, aiming to enhance cultural exchanges and promote the friendship between China and ASEAN countries.
Zhang Yayue, a Thailand international student from Peking University said, "I was worried at first because I knew nothing about Guizhou, but I realized that my worries were unnecessary after I came here. Every teacher, student and volunteer at Zunyi Medical University is very warm and lovely, and I also learned a lot about traditional Chinese culture and the natural scenery of Guizhou. This experience is very valuable to me and will stay in my memory forever!"
On September 2, the closing ceremony was heldon the Xinpu Campus of ZMU. The ceremony was attended by Liu Jianguo, deputysecretary of the Party Committee andpresident of the university, Gong Qihai,vicepresident of the Party Committee, the from theDepartment ofInternational Cooperation & School of International Education,representatives fromthe school of Foreign Languages,and 20 international studentsfrom Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Liu Jianguo delivered a speech in which he hoped that the international students who participated in the activity could share what they saw and heard with more people, actively promote China-ASEANpeople-to-people exchanges, and promote the understanding and friendship between China and ASEAN; Tian Yan, teacher representativefrom Minzu Universityof China expressed her sincere gratitude to ZMU for the hard work in organizing the activity, wishing that the activity would become a famous brand of international Chinese education; the international students who took part in the event shared their feelings one by one. The activity ended with talent shows performed by the participants of the speech contest.
