On August 30, the "China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week(CAECW)New Future of Stomatology Empowered by Multi-interdisciplinary Intersection 2023" was held at the Stomatological Hospital of Zunyi Medical University.
Major experts at the forum included Wang Songling, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of the National Institute for Data Science in Health and Medicine, Capital Medical University; Liu Jianguo, deputy secretary of the Party committee and president of Zunyi Medical University; Zhou Yongsheng, deputy director of the National Center for Stomatology and secretary of the Party committee of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology; Chen Qianming, vice president of the Chinese Stomatological Association, secretary of the Party committee of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital andthedirector of the School of Stomatology of Zhejiang University; Yan Fuhua,chairman of the Periodontology Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, vicepresident of Nanjing stomatological Hospital &Medical school of Nanjing University; Chen Yongjin,amember of the Disciplinary Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and Stomatology Hospital of Air Force Medical University; Song Jinlin,amember of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Stomatology Specialties of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education,deputysecretary of the Party Committee andpresident of the Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University; Pei Xibo,amember of the Specialized Committee on Prosthodontics of the Chinese Stomatological Association, andvicedirector of the Academic Affairs Department of West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University; Feng Hongchao, Secretary oftheParty Committee of Guiyang Stomatological Hospital. The sub-forum was presidedoverby Wang Dali, a member of the Party committee and vice president of Zunyi Medical University.
At the forum, Academician Wang Songling made a report on the theme of "Promoting the Construction of Undergraduate Textbooks of Stomatology with High Quality", which focused on the reform of teaching and learning in stomatology, talent cultivation, the composition of textbook editorial committee members, responsibilities of editorial committee, the process of determining the final list, and the development of textbook coverage, etc. He pointed out that the construction of textbooks is an important symbol to measure the level of running a university, and also an essential guarantee for higher education institutions to deepen teaching reform and improve the quality of education and teaching. The compilation of textbooks should follow the principles of scientificity, systematicness, advancement, standardability and readability.
Liu Jianguo said that Zunyi Medical University has participated in the activities of the China-ASEAN Cooperation Week for16 consecutive years and has hosted the various activities for many times. Relying on the influence of the platform, ZMU has promoted the high-quality development of the School/Hospital of Stomatology and stomatology education, which has achieved remarkable results in the field of international cooperation, talent team building and discipline construction.
Zhou Yongsheng, Chen Qianming, Yan Fuhua, Chen Yongjin, Song Jinlin, Pei Xibo and other experts made keynote speeches about the direction of digitalization of stomatology, education development, and innovation of oral health care technology. More than 300 representatives of ZMU attended the forum.
In recent years, ,the School/Hospital of Stomatology of ZMU has launched a series of exchanges and cooperation programs with domestic high-level institutions through the platform of China-ASEAN cooperation week, such as signing the cooperation agreements with West China Hospital of Stomatology of Sichuan University, sending faculty and staff to Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology for further study and organizing student exchange program at Capital Medical University. At the same time, ZMU has developed cooperation in scientific research and talent cultivation with high-level foreign universities including I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University,Sechenov University, Osaka Dental University, University of Amsterdam, Wake Forest University, etc, which effectively promote educational exchanges and cooperation.
