Collaborative Innovation Center of Chinese Ministry of Education for Tissue Repair and Regenerative Medicine of Zunyi Medical University's was approved by the Ministry of Education in October 2020.The center has established basic research on stem cell development and blood disease treatment, stem cell engineering and tissue regeneration repair, adult mesenchymal stem cells and their derivatives therapeutics, It will focuse on the characteristics of wound repair, organ protection, cell engineering and regenerative medicine research, drive the development of subject groups and related biotechnology industries, successive reinforce research on bone and joint injuries, neurological diseases and brain function. The center have cooperate with universities and biotechnology companies inside and outside the province on more than 10 projects, and achieved good development.The center has advanced technology platforms such as molecular biology, cell analysis, cytogenetics, clinical-grade cell preparation and tissue engineering technology,And hired a total of 120 experts, scholars and professional technicians in the field of damage repair from various collaborative units, established 2 academician studios, and formed a high-level research team, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and One winner of the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" of the National Ten Thousand Talents Project, two tribute experts from the Ministry of Health, one innovative talent team from the Ministry of Education, three New Century Excellent Talents from the Ministry of Education, five outstanding young scientific and technological talents in Guizhou Province, two talents of the tenth level and three core experts in Guizhou Province , five recipients of special allowances from the State Council, and five provincial management experts in Guizhou Province. It has one teaching team in Guizhou Province and six scientific and technological innovation talent teams in Guizhou Province.

The center was approved by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences to establish the "Key Laboratory of Transformational Research on Adult Stem Cells of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences" in Guizhou, and was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission as a key laboratory "Cell Engineering Biomedical Technology National and Local Joint Laboratory" and the Ministry of Science and Technology's innovative talent training base ;Completed theconstruction and development of National Pharmaceutical Ministry of Education International Cooperation Joint Laboratory, Guizhou Cell Engineering Key Laboratory, Guizhou Cell Tissue Bank, Guizhou Cell Engineering Center, Guizhou Clinical Medicine (Wound Repair) Research Center, Guizhou Brain Death Evaluation Center, Guizhou provincial biotherapy talent basesand so on;The center occupies 3000m2area,It has a total value of 40 million (ten thousand yuan) of instruments and equipment, such as high-throughput sequencer, small animal imager, high-content screening system, ultra-high-speed flow sorting system, living cell workstation, programmed cooling and deep Low temperature cryopreservation system, ultrasonic Doppler, liquid mass spectrometry and other large-scale equipment. A multi-disciplinary, cross-system resource sharing and collaborative research mechanism has been established among multiple collaborative units, and a series of key technological breakthrough have been realized in the basic and clinical transformation of mesenchymal stem cells, skin flap transplantation, skin injury repair, and bone and joint disease treatment. a number of clinical new technologies have been widely promoted and applied in the precise treatment of skin flap transplantation and spinal lesion repair, and a number of new targets, new mechanisms, and new intervention measures for brain function maintenance and neuroprotection have been discovered.

The center has successively participated in and undertaken the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" National Science and Technology Major Project and the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" key research and development sub-projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology.In 2016, it became one of the first batch of 30 stem cell clinical research filing institutions approved by the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the State Food and Drug Administration. It is in a leading position in precision treatment technologies such as skin flap (perforator flap) technology, spinal lesions, craniocerebral injury and protection. The technology has been promoted and applied inside and outside the province. The research and development of placental stem cells in bone marrow and umbilical cord has entered the clinical trial stage.

Professor He Zhixu, the director of the center, is a“Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project”talent, a tribute expert from the Ministry of Health, the leader of the innovation team of the Ministry of Education, a ten-level talent and core expert in Guizhou Province. He has established the first human embryonic stem cell line in China, providing seed cells for regenerative medicine; developed a human embryonic stem cell line derived from somatic cell cloning technology for the first time in the world, achieved a major breakthrough in individualized stem cell therapy technology; created Guizhou Several national and provincial stem cell research and development platforms and excellent teams in the province,promoted the clinical application of stem cells and the formation of emerging industries in our province, and brought our province's biomedicine and medical and health technologies into the national advanced ranks. Professor He Zhixu won the 2021 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Innovation Award-Regional Innovation Award. This is the first Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award in the medical field in Guizhou Province. In 2022, Professor He Zhixu won the highest science and technology award in Guizhou Province. The team led by Stem Cell The research won the 2022 Top Ten Scientific and Technological "People's Health" Innovation Achievements in Guizhou Province.
